TOP
FIVE WAYS TO IMPROVE TURNAROUND TIME
|
Approximately
5-10% of all reports submitted to HRPLUS
cannot be processed as received. Often, the first day
or two involves filling in the blanks on the application,
a task the applicant can often accomplish in just a few
extra minutes. Therefore, the top five ways to improve
turnaround all involve the application form. Just a little
effort makes a big WIN-WIN when the applicant: |
|
1.
Signs the authorization form, |
|
2.
Provides telephone numbers for employers and references, |
|
3.
Includes pertinent employment information, especially
position and dates of employment, |
|
4.
Lists supervisors names, |
|
5.
Writes the complete name of the employer or school, instead
of using an aka or acronym. |

FEATURED IN WORKFORCE MAGAZINE
|
When
the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois (now Gift of Hope)
needed to implement a background-screening program, the
company turned to HRPLUS. This successful
relationship is featured in the Success Stores section
of the July 2002 issue of Workforce magazine. |
|
Titled
"HRPLUS Makes Thorough Background Checks Easy,"
the article highlights how HRPLUS provided the Organ Bank
of Illinois with a customized program that the company
was able to benefit from almost immediately. Kimberlye
Hudson of the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois says in
the article that the program designed for the company
"...saves us many, many man-hours. What would take
us four to five days now takes just a few hours." |
|
We
thank Kimberlye and the Regional Organ Bank of Illinois
for sharing their success story with Workforce magazine.

PROTECT
YOUR WORKPLACE FROM ECSTASY USE
|
The
designer drug, ecstasy (MDMA) is becoming a genuine concern
for employers, as its presence away from the "rave scene"
is becoming more common. The number of adults who have
used the illegal drug at least once in 2000 increased
by 25% over the previous year, according to the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services National Household Survey
on Drug Abuse. Additionally, research shows that ecstasy
use may cause long-term deficits in memory and cognition.
With psychedelic effects that can last up to six hours,
ecstasy users also can experience psychological and physical
effects that include depression, anxiety, sleeplessness,
blurred vision, and tremors. |
|
As
ecstasy use continues to grow, it is important to protect
your workplace from its effects. STAT America now offers
ecstasy screening with laboratory urine testing or laboratory
hair testing programs. It is simple to add ecstasy screening
to an existing drug testing panel. You will continue to
receive normal negative results via e-mail or Web-based
reporting within 24 to 48 hours of specimen receipt. For
more information on how to add ecstasy screening to your
existing drug testing panels, contact a STAT America representative
at 303-679-0010. |
